New plaster should be allowed to dry fully before painting — usually 4–6 weeks for a full plaster, or 1–2 weeks for skimming. We always advise on this at the end of the job.
Artex applied before 2000 may contain chrysotile (white) asbestos. We always carry out or commission an asbestos survey before disturbing any Artex, and follow safe removal procedures if asbestos is found.
